Day 1

For the past 5+ years, I have spent every day and pretty much every  hour, minute and second of it, with Aasiyah!  She was my baby, who I spent all my focus on and all my money on ! I considered homeschooling at one time, but DH wold hear nothing about it ! But because of her I started Playgroup .. well only because when I sent her one day I figured "I can do THAT !"
So today marked the loosening of the apron strings ....

Aasiyah got up quite early this morning, perhaps it was excitement.  So we quickly got through eating, cleaning and dressing.  I wasn't planning to go with. I figured if she had a moment of weakness DH would be better to handle it. But she asked if I'd go with to "make sure everything is ok ".   It was a slight mission to get done, DS was NOT happy to be woken up for no reason and was moody ALL morning!  DH did the obligatory photo session. She looked adorable and her aunty was here to see her off as well.

7:15am and we all piled in to the car.  It took 10min to get there and the teacher wasn't there yet, so we waited. I think the wait made it real for her, as she started to hug me, tighter and tighter when she saw her teacher arrive.  We went in and looked around.  She looked teary when I said bye.  I hoped she wouldn't cry once I left.  The teacher said I could stay a bit, so I took her over to the hooks to hang her bag up. She grabbed me and said "I don't think I want to go to school anymore". I hugged her tightly. I understood. I didn't want to leave her, but I didn't have a choice.  Bravely we went over to a table with play dough.  She got distracted by the assistant teacher, I took my chance, greeted and left.  I walked briskly to the car and saw a fellow mom.  I chatted for a bit about my moments with my daughter.  I took a deep breath and fluttered my eyes to clear the tears that had formed in my eyes.  I got into the car and came home.
